Chevrolet Volt Audio Build — OEM Rework

An electric car has no engine to hide behind. Every fault in the sound is naked. That is where we began — with a full audio rework of a car that would forgive nothing sloppy.

The brief

Commission № 002 is a 2016 Chevrolet Volt, made quieter and entirely reworked beneath the trim. Vehicle: Chevrolet Volt. Domain: car audio. Visible change: none — a quiet car made quieter, and, beneath, entirely reworked. The build was carried out in Kraków, in the same workshop behind every Jullia commission, using the same restraint that guides the atelier's car audio and home audio work alike.

What we reworked

The factory amplifier came out. The power-supply circuit was reworked and key components replaced, then the whole system was returned exactly as it was found. In a car this quiet, the difference is not subtle — it is the difference between hearing a recording and standing inside one. As always: reversible, complete. At resale, zero trace. Sound insulation and DSP tuning were carried out alongside the electronics rebuild, tuned specifically to a cabin with almost no engine noise to mask any remaining flaw.

The gallery

The rework film documents the inside of the Volt with the chain rebuilt and no single visible mark left behind. Two images from the bench are shown alongside it: the components laid out before they were returned to the car, and the workbench itself under one light source — the same understated setting behind every Jullia commission.

The reaction
